Our leightweight champion
We used a very light body wood for this Hydra, called Cedro or spanish Cedar. This has the same tonal qualities and looks of normal mahogany, but only about half the weight. In combination with the indian rosewood top, it produces a bautiful balanced tone with warm mids and rich overtones. Due to the construction with the long tenon set neck it has a very quick response and an endless sustain – perfect for fast fingers that demand a very fast attack and a tone to the point. The ABM wraparound bridge is made of aluminum and contributes to the very resonant character of this instrument. We used Kluson locking tuners with ebony knobs, which keep the Hydra perfectly in tune under all cicumstances. The two Bareknuckle Holydiver Humbucker produce a very classic rock sound, well defined and with rich harmonics. Perfect for all styles of modern and progressive rock, as well as for classic 90s hardrock sounds.
