We had the pleasure of building this Hydra at Christoph’s request. This one features the body design with the slightly longer right horn, but with the typical Hydra curves that perfectly hug the body. To complement the modern design, Christoph opted for a matte azure-blue metallic finish and satin chrome hardware. We think it’s incredibly harmonious and a real eye-catcher, a departure from the classic guitar finishes! Combined with the oiled Indian rosewood neck, it offers not only a stylish look but also a wonderfully comfortable feel. 🙂
On the hardware side, we’ve fitted the Schaller Lockmeister Floyd Rose, a completely tuning-stable and modern vibrato system, along with matching locking tuners for easier string changes. The two Häussel pickups, paired with the 5-way Megaswitch P, deliver beautiful split sounds and are fully engaged in positions 1 and 5 for a powerful rock sound. Our proven neck joint with M6 stainless steel screws ensures quick response and excellent sustain.
