That bloody V

We planned and built this beauty for Daniel. I have to admit: despite its simple appearance, this guitar has been one of the biggest challenges in recent years. As we all know, the devil lies in the detail .. and there are a few to discover at this V!
A “Denial” logo made of flamed maple adorns the fingerboard, which is completely framed with a flamed maple binding. The end of the fingerboard is also a subtle “V”. From the 10th fret it is completely scallopped and 22 brightly polished jumbo stainless steel frets ensure functionality. The “side dots” have their own design (“everyone has dots..”). They take up the shape of the lower half of the guitar and were applied and sprayed over as small waterslide decals on the side of the fingerboard.
The neck is “neck-through” and was made from three pieces of maple (2x plain, 1x flamed). The wings of the body are made of swamp ash and I found the spectacular quilted maple top in the desired size at my tonewood supplier of trust (thanks René!). The top should be “blood red”. Many attempts and color samples later we finally found the perfect shade of red. The back should get a black pore filler and be painted with a transparent black-gray. In contrast to the top and headstock, however, it is completely satin. Phew, the finish took time and nerves, but it looks awesome and exactly met Daniel’s request. And that’s what counts in the Custom Shop !!
Hand-wound pickups from Häussel ensure the perfect tone conversion and the hardware is top-notch: Sperzel Locking Tuner, Schaller locking nut and strap locks and an ingenious Kahler 2300 flat mount steel cam tremolo. A killer axe and – without wanting to pat myself on the shoulder – one of the most beautiful V’s that I have ever held in my hand.
