Prog Metal Machine

We built the Ännchen II at the request of Phillip from Vanish (www.vanish-metal.com). The basis of this design, which was designed specifically for Phillip in CAD, was the body shape of the Ibanez RG. We have modified these a bit and given them some distinctive shapes. And since we wanted this to be absolutely unique, we of course added a few more features at Phillip’s request:
The Vansih band logo was inlaid into the black Richlite fingerboard made of Corian. Richlite is absolutely insensitive to external influences and therefore perfect for stage use. The roasted maple neck is also indestructible and therefore a perfect pair for maximum stability. The fanned frets on this multiscale fingerboard, along with the longer scale length in the bass, ensure more string tension and therefore tighter articulation with more punch on the B string. The “normal” 25.5″ scale length in the treble allows solos to continue to slide neatly over the stainless steel frets. The zero fret ensures perfect string position right from the nut.
In my opinion, the Kahler Vibrato is the best double locking system on the market. Perfectly thought out and functional and easy to use in every respect. Of course, absolutely tuning stable and compatible with almost every scale length.
The Häussel pickups with the soapbar cover are custom-made for this guitar and provide a lot of thrust with always perfect articulation for high gain sounds – perfectly designed for prog metal. In combination with the Megaswitch P, very versatile sounds result and the integrated killpot in the volume control makes machining effects possible.
A small eye-catcher is of course the “Ännchen II” logo on the body. Of course Phillip knows who he is talking about and who we have to thank for the start of this very cool custom project 🙂
