We built this singlecut at Ralf’s request. The rolemodel for this guitar was of course a classic of guitar making – in this case, however, it was based on the famous Fernandes Goldtop by Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett. Ralf is on stage in Germany with his Genesis tribute band “Nursery Crime” and celebrates the progressive music style of the 70s from the early days of Genesis.
Of course, this required some special features on the guitar, such as being as lightweight as possible so that it could be played comfortably for a long gig. For this, particularly lightweight spanish cedar wood was used for the body and neck.
And of course a Sustainiac pickup for endless sustain and special feedback effects. In addition, the Kahler system enables an effortless vibrato and perfect tuning stability.
We have chosen the hand-wound Kloppmann HB60 as the bridge pickup – a perfect partner for progressive riffs that can really cut through the mix.
Visually, with the classic goldtop look, we are very close to Steve Hackett’s original. A round package for the tribute to a special band!
