We built this classic doublecut especially at Werner’s request. There is actually hardly anything to add or take away from this timeless design, so we decided on a few details that are not available off the shelf.
For example, the body and neck are made of super light spanish cedar wood. Botanically and sonically a close relative of mahogany, it is however much lighter and a little faster in response. This meant that we ended up with a fantastic lightweight guitar of just over 3kg. Werner personally chose the nice flamed maple top and the dark rosewood fingerboard from our wood stock.
The golden hardware is also not available from the factory, so we decided on first-class hardware “made in Germany” from Schaller and ABM, which is unrivalled in terms of functionality and quality.
The sonic conversion is provided by hand-wound pickups from Amber in Berlin. The “Spirit of ’59” humbuckers are almost perfect clones of the old PAFs with lots of vintage vibe and mojo.
The classic tobacco sunburst finish combines all the ingredients in a timelessly elegant guitar. “Custom Shop” is that easy when you order a guitar from us 😉
