The Glamour Frog
We built this glittering beauty for Thorsten “Doc Rock” Seiffert from www.rocknroll-reporter.de! Anyone can pull off understatement—and let’s be honest: who needs that in a guitar?? 😉
So we decided to go all out: The body is based, of course, on the classic RG Superstrat design, which we crafted from lightweight red alder. Finished with a black base coat, topped with glitter flakes, and finally coated with “Candy Green,” the Froggy really gets that special bling-bling factor. Thorsten selected the Palemoon ebony fretboard specifically for our creation. It has a beautifully lively grain and is a real eye-catcher. Fitted with mixed frets (jumbo and medium size) in stainless steel and a flat 16″ radius, it’s perfectly suited for lightning-fast fingerwork. To match the bold color scheme, it naturally calls for DiMarzio humbuckers. In pink!
On the technical side, we’ve added a Sustainiac. Since the pickup sound from this leaves a bit to be desired, we’ve mounted it side-by-side with the DiMarzio HB in single-coil format. This way, it serves only as a driver for endless sustain, while the neck pickup sound comes exclusively from the DiMarzio.
Of course, a versatile wiring with coil splits for the pickups, Sustainiac modes, and a kill switch is a must—these features make the Froggy incredibly versatile in terms of sound.
The package is rounded out with Schaller locking tuners and a Gotoh Floyd Rose, and the Frogstar Battlemachine is ready to go 🙂
