May I introduce you to Lucia! We designed and built this guitar at Kevin’s request. The planning was done as a 1:1 CAD drawing, allowing us to perfectly coordinate the final design with Kevin. The result is a truly unique instrument, as individual in every respect as its owner.
Kevin, of course, already had several ideas he brought to us. The body shape was to be offset, but not a 1:1 copy of a major brand. The headstock shape was to be modeled after an Indian “Kukri” dagger. The body’s finish, with its color fade between Pacific Peach and Shell Pink, is meant to evoke a desert sunrise. The fretboard inlays symbolize candles combined with scythes and reflect “Memento Mori.” Sound-wise, Kevin is a complete purist (except for the seventh string). A custom P90 pickup from Holighaus, an on/off switch, a fixed bridge, and locking tuners — that’s it. The body is made of super-light red cedar with a very fast response and beautiful resonance, while the neck and fretboard are crafted from oiled rosewood for a fantastic feel and look.
