Classic in aged Lake Placid Blue

This S-Type was specially built at Jörg’s request. The super-thin nitro finish was based on the original “Lake Placid Blue” color from the 60’s and has been carefully aged – as well as the hardware. Jörg had some special requests that he couldn’t get “off the peg” and so he contacted us to be able to implement his ideas. So we designed the fretboard radius as a compound of 10-14″ and used medium stainless steel frets. The positions are marked by small mother-of-pearl diamonds in the plum wood fretboard. A vibrato was not needed and so we decided on a fixed bridge from ABM. We also changed the positions of the pots so that nothing gets in the way of the picking hand and completely dispensed with a pot in favor of a single master tone pot. The locking tuners from Gotoh, in combination with the well dressed bone nut, ensure the best tuning stability and we were also able to go without string trees. Nice lightweight red alder was chosen for the body. The flamed maple for the neck is thermally treated and quatersawn, which ensures the best stability and is relatively insensitive to the effects of the weather. Finally, the three Kinman pickups ensure an absolutely hum-free, authentic single-coil sound.
