FK Custom – Headless Multiscale

Headless with hard shell

We built this custom headless guitar at Florian’s request. The design is of course inspired by Ola Strandberg’s Boden model, but we gave it some special features. The body is made of a beautifully figured piece of Black Limba, the electronic cover was also made of this wood and blends in perfectly. The neck is made of roasted maple – the heat treatment ensures perfect stability, as the wood hardly moves anymore. We designed the neck profile to be slightly asymmetrical with a slightly flattened area on the bass side as a guide for the thumb. The fretboard was made of Richlite, which is also completely insensitive to weather influences and offers optimal properties for a fretboard due to its hardness and toughness. The colorful numbers as fretboard inlays create a nice contrast to the concrete gray of the top. Speaking of which: we coated the top with real concrete silicate! This not only offers the look and feel of real concrete, but is also extremely solid and abrasion-resistant. In addition, each surface is absolutely unique.
On the technical side, the ABM single bridges and headpieces ensure the best handling and sonic transmission. With the single bridges we can adapt the scale length individually to the fanned frets. The hand-wound Häussel pickups take care of the sound conversion with a lot of power and punch, but always with perfect string separation and without “muddling”.
A beautiful, compact “Djent machine” with an absolutely unique character!
