Cupido – King of Berserk

Berserk in glitter robes

We built this Cupido at Clemens’ request! With this guitar, too, we consistently used local woods and hardware components:
The body was made from the extremely light and resonant Western Red Cedar, which comes from Hessen. The tree is also called giant arborvitae or giant thuja and belongs to the cypress family. Quite common for acoustic guitar tops, it is rarely used as a body wood for electric guitars. It’s actually a shame, because this wood has excellent acoustic properties!
The maple from which the neck was made comes from Neustadt a.d.W. For greater rigidity and strength, it was glued from three parts and a dark walnut veneer stripes.
The plum for the fretboard also comes from Neustadt and was personally selected by Clemens when he visited us. The somewhat shorter 25″ scale has emerged as a good “all-round” standard for singlecut models, as it lies exactly in the middle between the classic F* and G* scales. Provided with stainless steel frets from Wagner and a compound radius, this ensures the best Playability.
The bridge comes from the hardware company ETS from Hessen and is milled from solid bell brass. This ensures excellent sustain, sonority and overtone behavior. The M6 locking tuners from Schaller and a carefully filed and polished bone saddle ensure a good tuning. The audio is converted by hand-wound coils by Harry Häussel from Swabia.
A special visual eye-catcher is the blue sparkle finish with the small metal flakes and of course the HAL9000 kill switch.
