Cupido HG Custom

High-end without tropical wood

We built this Cupid at Holger’s request. Like many other customers before him, Holger was also enthusiastic about the idea of getting a guitar that completely dispensed with tropical woods. We have already proved that it is possible to build highclass instruments from local or European wood!
During his visit to our workshop, Holger chose a beautiful flamed walnut top and a figured plum wood fretboard. We chose a super-light piece of western red cedar from Hessen for the body, and a beautifully flamed piece of maple from Bosnia for the neck.
In terms of sound, this Cupido should be as versatile as possible. The two hand-wound pickups by Amber from Berlin can be split into “singlecoils” with a push-push pot. So you can get almost perfect SC sounds out of the two ’59 PAF replicas. In order to also be able to call up authentic acoustic guitar sounds, we have also installed a Graphtech Ghost Piezo Bridge with the associated preamp.
The result was a very coherent concept of a modern allround guitar with an absolute high-end and unique character, completely without tropical wood.. And Holger is more than happy with his new guitar – mission accomplished!
