Custom made Acoustic for Joe Pagadini

It was a pleasure to build this acoustic for Ralf Nehr aka Joe Pagadini. I’ve known Ralf since my first steps on the electric guitar and as a 12- or 13-year-old I was fascinated by what this 2 meter giant did with his Jackson V (with a crocodile head airbrush from the custom shop. How cool was that?!) and his JCM 800. That was in the early 90s, it was a long time ago and the hair got shorter .. And so I’m proud that he exchanged his V for a custom acoustic from me. It was important to Ralf to get a guitar that nobody else has. He likes Maple fingerboards, so why not give it a try with an acoustic? He doesn’t play above the 12th fret anyway, there is space for his logo. But the cutaway still looks more elegant. Otherwise, with the exception of the bridge, we have completely dispensed with tropical wood: French walnut for the back and sides, cedar for the top and maple for the neck. A sound port in the side ensures that the player hears himself better. There are also a few more overtones in the overall sound. I developed the entire design and bracing for Ralf in order to get as close as possible to his dream sound. The result is a guitar that could hardly be more personal – with a wonderfully balanced sound with a very direct response and great volume. Perfect for strumming and flat picking, just like Ralf wanted it to be. And I wish YOU something Joe: May this guitar sound in your hands for a long time!
